Battery Hardware Test Engineer

By collaborating with other product development groups across the
client
, you'll push the industry boundaries of what batteries can do and improve the product experience for customers across the world. In this role, you will utilize your skills as a test engineer to lead testing execution in coordination with test engineers and technicians to validate battery packs for next-generation consumer electronics. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop test processes, execute tests, and analyze test results.

Key Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering
  • 2+ years of experience testing in a lab environment with understanding of BMU protections
  • Understanding of EE bench test equipment and its appropriate application (oscilloscopes, meters, data-loggers, power supplies, etc.)
  • Highly experienced in a lab setting, bringing a can-do attitude with a willingness to take ownership and drive results
  • Relies on data to justify technical decisions and clearly explain technical issues
  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills, curiosity, and ability to work in a fast-paced team
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently under high pressure and in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated success conducting tests and summarizing data
  • High attention to detail
  • Familiarity with test platforms including Automated Test Equipment utilizing data acquisition and instrumentation control software such as Python or similar test scripting

Description:

  • Execute battery EE-level tests and provide accurate result reports
  • Generate KPIs for daily lab activities
  • Review BMU schematics and layouts to verify conformance and determine testability
  • Conduct investigations and prepare reports to support findings
  • Write plans, co-develop procedures, and analyze data for validation activities
  • Run complex test setups using high-accuracy test equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment and sample issues; maintain and resolve test equipment problems as needed
  • Use various types of measurement equipment to test batteries and cells
