Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management. This role requires exceptional leadership and team management skills to ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and presentation meet established standards.
  • Assist in menu planning, including the development of new dishes and seasonal offerings.
  • Manage food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes.
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Maintain inventory control, including ordering supplies, managing stock levels, and minimizing waste.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment for maintenance needs and ensure cleanliness throughout the kitchen area.

Skills

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a culinary environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food production techniques and culinary practices.
  • Experience in menu planning, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and other departments.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
