Position Summary:

The Outside Salesperson will sell products and services offered by the company to new customers, as well as build consultative relationships with customers to retain long term business partnerships. The outside salesperson will work independently with external customers, prospects & vendors, and work internally with the sales support staff and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.
  • Communicates with customers and leads to identifying and understand their product or service needs; identifies and suggests products and services to meet those needs.
  • Demonstrates the functions and utility of products or services to customers.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.
  • Maintains communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them to new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
  • Maintains detailed reports on sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
  • Proven ability to work independently while proactively engaging both new and existing clients during in-person sales calls.
  • Provides periodic territory sales forecasts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Proven record of increased sales and new business accounts
  • Must have a current, valid driver's license.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Sage 100 ERP system or ability to learn system.

Education and Experience


• Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, business, or related field preferred


• At least five years of related experience preferred.
