Parking Garage Porter/Parking Lot Loss Prevention Officer

Position Summary
The Parking Garage Porter and Parking Lot Loss Prevention Officer will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment across multiple parking facilities/lots. This position combines janitorial responsibilities with basic property maintenance and loss prevention duties. The role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to interact courteously with members of the public when needed.
Primary Responsibilities
Working Shift: Friday- Tuesday 9:00am -6:00pm
(1 hour lunch break -off days are Wednesday's and Thursday's)
Facility Cleaning and Janitorial Duties
- Perform daily sweeping and mopping where necessary, and general cleanup throughout all levels of the parking garage.
- Conduct daily litter pickup throughout the garage, stairwells, elevator lobbies, and surrounding property and lots.
- Clean windows, glass doors, kiosk interfaces, and other transparent surfaces.
- Operate leaf blowers and other cleaning tools to maintain a tidy appearance.
- Safely clean and remove human refuse and other hazardous materials using proper protective equipment.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners daily.
- Maintain cleanliness of the garage booth, machine room, electrical room, and surrounding areas.
- Report sanitation issues that require advanced cleaning or contractor assistance.
Maintenance and Equipment Responsibilities
- Perform minor equipment maintenance such as replacing bulbs, tightening fixtures, lubricating moving parts, and cleaning equipment housings.
- Identify, report, and in some cases repair malfunctioning gates, payment kiosks, lighting issues, and other mechanical concerns.
- Assist with basic repairs when within skill level.
- Maintain tools and equipment used during daily operations.
Parking Lot Loss Prevention Duties
- Patrol assigned lots and garages to deter non-payment, loitering, and unauthorized activity.
- Conduct daily drive around inspections and prepare accurate drive around reports.
- Issue parking tickets for violations such as unpaid parking, improper parking, or unauthorized use of lots/spaces under management.
- Monitor lots for suspicious activity and report concerns promptly to management or law enforcement when appropriate.
- Assist customers or visitors when appropriate, while maintaining safety and policy standards.
Lot Maintenance
- Maintain exterior grounds including mowing, edging, and trimming as required.
- Remove litter from lots and surrounding walkways on a daily basis.
- Perform basic landscape upkeep when requested.
- Ensure signage, fencing, and payment stations remain unobstructed and in good condition.
Customer Service and Operational Support
- Provide courteous assistance to customers with questions related to parking operations.
- Assist with booth duties including opening and closing procedures, basic troubleshooting of equipment, and customer communication.
- Support the operations team with special projects or events when requested.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Prior experience in janitorial, maintenance, parking operations, or security is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to complete written reports with accuracy and clarity.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift moderate weight and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Must be over the age of 18 years old
- Must past a criminal background check
- Valid Driver's License
- Reliable transportation - Traveling to varies job auditing locations
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
