Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Geotechnical Engineer / Geologist I
to join our team in
Miami, Florida
. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in
engineering and geology
, with up to five years of related geotechnical experience.

This role involves both
field and office work
, including soil and rock analysis, data collection, and report preparation. Candidates must be
physically capable of walking over rough terrain
and
standing for extended periods
during field assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field investigations, soil sampling, and subsurface explorations.
  • Assist in analyzing geotechnical data and preparing engineering reports.
  • Support senior engineers in developing foundation and earthwork recommendations.
  • Perform laboratory testing and interpret soil and rock characteristics.
  • Participate in site inspections and monitor geotechnical construction activities.
  • Prepare technical documentation, logs, and drawings as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on engineering and geological projects.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
    (Civil, Geological, or related field).
  • Master's Degree in Geology
    (required).
  • 0–5 years
    of related experience in
    geotechnical engineering or geology
    .
  • Ability to perform physically demanding fieldwork, including walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with
    geotechnical software
    (e.g., gINT, GeoStudio, PLAXIS, or similar).
  • Familiarity with
    soil classification systems
    and
    ASTM testing procedures
    .
  • Excellent
    technical writing and analytical skills
    .
  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork orientation.
