Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our dentists and ensuring a positive experience for our patients. This role requires proficiency in various dental procedures, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
  • Perform chairside assisting duties, including taking X-rays and managing medical imaging equipment.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care, fostering a welcoming environment.
  • Manage dental clinic operations, including scheduling appointments and handling administrative tasks as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care in areas such as general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
  • Utilize EMR systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft for efficient patient management and record keeping.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry being a plus.
  • Proficient in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
  • Experience with medical documentation, medical coding, and managing medical records is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform vital signs assessments and understand basic medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of 3D scanning technology is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members alike.
