Job Responsibilities
The Strategic Initiatives Project Manager is responsible for leading strategic, enterprise-level projects that deliver measurable business value for Syneos Health. This role oversees cross-functional teams to execute initiatives such as post-M&A integrations, strategic partnership implementations, and business transformations. The Project Manager ensures alignment with enterprise strategy, promotes accountability, and fosters a culture of recognition while driving impactful outcomes.
Core Responsibilities
- Manages matrixed project teams comprised of cross-functional participants, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and accountability in line with established project governance.
- Develops and maintains project charters, integrated project plans, resource plans, risk and issue management plans, and other related project management artifacts.
- Executes and measures project progress against milestones and KPIs to ensure timely and successful completion of projects and realization of business value.
- Tracks and escalates risks and issues to the project team, program management, or executive management as appropriate, utilizing structured decision-making tools.
- Manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed-on time, cost, and quality parameters.
- Validates financial forecasts and provides ongoing reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures.
- Drives change management and business readiness activities to support adoption and sustainment of new processes, systems, or structures.
- Publishes periodic project status reports and maintains transparent communication with stakeholders, including executive sponsors and steering groups.
- Chairs project team meetings to review progress, celebrate successes, and recognize individual and team contributions.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in routinely briefing key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned projects.
- Represents projects in various governance and inter-departmental forums, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and escalation of key decisions.
- Supports initiatives by assisting in process mapping and process improvement efforts that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Captures lessons learned and promotes continuous improvement by contributing to the evolution of methodology and best practices within the strategic initiative's delivery team.

BA/BS or equivalent related education and experience (at least 5 years' experience in project management).
Additional Qualifications
- Knowledge and expertise in project management, including methodologies and tools.
- Experience in people management in a matrix environment.
- Ability to coach and manage staff to meet deadlines while delivering high-quality work in a dynamic environment is essential. Needs to be flexible, enthusiastic, highly adaptable, quick to assimilate new information, and demonstrate initiative as a team member and leader.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead interactions that involve multiple internal and external stakeholders, including Senior and Executive leaders.
- Proficient computer skills with willingness to embrace new technologies. Basic knowledge of project/timeline management tool(s) is preferred.
- Must have the ability to secure a passport and corporate credit card.
- Minimal travel may be required (up to 25%).

Physical Requirements: Position requires: ability to occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office equipment, etc. and to move between office locations; ability to maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods of time; ability to occasionally manipulate (e.g., lift, carry, move) office items and packages of light to medium weights of 10-35 pounds; ability to constantly operate a computer and other office productivity equipment (e.g., scanner, phone, printer, copier); ability to perceive and assess written materials for prolonged periods of time; and ability to frequently communicate with colleagues on the phone, by email, and in-person.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is low. This is a largely sedentary role.

Salary Range:
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
