We're hiring a Network Specialist for our Information Technology Team. The person holding the position of Network Specialist uses their knowledge to monitor and maintain our Technology systems. It acts as a link between the company and its clients, providing consulting services on issues related to technology, promoting the efficient and personalized use of available technology tools. Focuses on specific computer networks, databases, and/or system administration. The Network Specialist installs, configures, repairs, maintains, and services information technology systems in both individual and client environments. Participates in technical research and development to foster continuous innovation in the organization and ensure that equipment, operating systems, and software are operating to the best of their ability.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related areas.

Others: Certifications and memberships within the industry (preferred).Experience: 4 to 6 years of experience in a similar position or its equivalent in education and experience.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Identifies customer needs by establishing a direct relationship with prospective and existing customers and others in a position to understand their service needs.
  • Collects data by identifying data sources, survey design, and data collection methods.
  • Organizes information by studying, analyzing, interpreting, and classifying data.
  • Resolves data recovery situations by altering the design to meet requirements.
  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Prepares reference documents for users when drafting operational instructions.
  • Keeps and maintains historical records by documenting system changes and revisions.
  • Maintains confidentiality and protects operations by keeping all information to which it has access confidential.
  • Acquires professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviews industry publications; establishes personal relationships in the industry; Participate in professional associations.
  • Contributes to the team by achieving its results, as required.
  • Establishes and reviews databases by meeting with analysts and programmers to code and retrieve data.
  • Provides database maintenance by submitting data to the system.
  • Consult with customers, suppliers and personnel in other departments or construction areas to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
  • Manage network and data security, including directory, group policies, firewall, antivirus, email security, among others.
  • Prepares estimates used by management for planning, organizing, and work scheduling purposes.
  • You must prepare systems and procedures for cost monitoring and reporting.
  • Install and configure wireless network equipment.
  • Create, analyze, report, convert or transfer data using specialized application software.
  • Works on the implementation, configuration, deployment, and support of systems, including, but not limited to, client computer and server equipment.
  • May provide new hire training and other training sessions as needed.
  • Evaluates the infrastructure regularly to ensure that it continues to meet the demands and requirements.
  • Contributes to the daily operations of the Technology Department.
  • Develops new technology strategies and processes to improve efficiency, improve workflow and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinates the needs of IT experts and remote employees, suppliers and contractors.
  • Protects the data from possible external attacks by encrypting the information, using secure data storage methods and other necessary measures.
  • Assists in the installation of new hardware and software and assists in training employees in their use.
  • Offers suggestions for possible updates, improvements or changes within the Technology department.
  • Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and drives as well as computer accessories and supplies at customer locations.
  • Loads the appropriate software packages such as operating systems, network components, and office applications.
  • Assists in customizing and adapting existing programs to meet client needs.
  • Provides technical support via telephone, in person or remotely to users.
  • Gives information updates, status and reports when the work is completed to managers and users through voice messages, email or in person.
  • Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for necessary corrections to be completed.
  • Connects users to the networks and provides initial training to use the applications.
  • Manage emails and antivirus.
  • Rotate backup media daily.
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned.
