Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. In this role, you will work primarily with home health patients, providing essential speech therapy services to help them overcome communication and swallowing disorders. Your expertise in patient assessment, medical terminology, and anatomy will be crucial in developing effective treatment plans tailored to each child's unique needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in a school setting and a strong understanding of early intervention strategies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech and language abilities in pediatric patients.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs.
- Implement evidence-based speech therapy techniques to improve communication skills.
- Collaborate with patients, patient families, care team members, and other healthcare professionals to support the patient's development.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients, families and caregivers on strategies to reinforce speech therapy goals at home.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Experience working with home health populations.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to speech therapy.
- Familiarity with home health practices and patient care techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
