Responsibilities

  • Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history reviews, to ensure safe treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to their needs.
  • Take digital dental radiographs while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
  • Review medical records and documentation to ensure accurate recordkeeping in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, providing chairside assistance with dental terminology knowledge and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Dentrix.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
