Position Overview

As a Bartender at Hollywood Blvd Cinema (operated by Reel Hospitality LLC), you are responsible for preparing, crafting, and serving beverages with professionalism and personality, while delivering exceptional guest experiences that embody Reel Hospitality. This position combines bar service, guest engagement, and showtime coordination in a fast-paced, entertainment-driven environment. Bartenders ensure responsible alcohol service, accurate transactions, and seamless communication with servers, runners, and the bar support team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with company recipes, Illinois BASSET laws, and brand standards.
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient service while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
  • Engage with guests in a professional, upbeat manner that reflects the Hollywood Blvd brand.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, including restocking, sanitation, and product rotation.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, register operation, and tip reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Bar Supervisor, servers, and runners to ensure timely drink delivery to auditoriums.
  • Verify guest identification and refuse service when required by law or policy.
  • Monitor beverage inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
  • Support special events, themed menus, and sponsor activations when scheduled.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings and contribute to team communication.
  • Adhere to all company safety, sanitation, and responsible service standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 21 (per Illinois liquor laws).
  • Must hold a valid BASSET certification (required before first shift).
  • Prior bartending experience in a restaurant, bar, or entertainment venue preferred.
  • Strong multitasking and customer service skills.
  • Ability to accurately follow recipes and portion standards.
  • Must maintain professionalism and positive guest interactions at all times.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods (6–8 hours).
  • Lift or carry up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 40 lbs occasionally.
  • Use of hands and arms to reach, pour, and operate bar tools and equipment safely.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $12.00 per hour plus tips (Illinois tipped rate). $25–$35 per hour total depending on volume and performance. Hourly base wage plus tips (Illinois tipped rate).
