Job Objective

The Timepiece Buyer plays a critical role in the success of a luxury watch business by curating an exceptional assortment of timepieces that align with brand identity, customer demand, and market trends. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge, strong negotiation skills, and a passion for horology.

Buyers are responsible for sourcing both new and vintage/pre-owned watches from a network of trusted dealers, private collectors, and auction houses. They analyze sales data and market insights to inform purchasing decisions and maintain optimal inventory levels across retail locations and online platforms. The buyer ensures that every timepiece meets the company's standards for authenticity, condition, and value, often collaborating with internal watchmakers or external experts for evaluation and service recommendations.

In addition to acquisition, the Timepiece Buyer works closely with sales, marketing, and operations teams to support product launches, drive sell-through, and maintain profitability. Their role demands a balance of creative curation and analytical rigor, helping to shape the product offering and uphold the reputation of the brand.

About You

  • Knowledge of the market, client and competitors
  • Awareness of department strategy
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent creative writing skills
  • Ability to coordinate several competing priorities
  • Merchandising experience preferred
  • Timepiece experience required

Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000 + bonus opportunity
