Overview

Position Summary

Reports to the Systems Application Manager. The Applications Analyst II is responsible for maintaining a strong understanding of system functionality and departmental processes as they relate to supported systems and applications.

This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to interpret, develop, and distribute documentation related to system functionality, upgrades, and enhancements. The analyst devises or modifies procedures to resolve complex issues while considering system limitations and operational impact.

The Applications Analyst II may lead multiple phases of projects and provide guidance or instruction to system users on workflows and best practices. This position requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a solution-oriented, customer-focused team environment.

Qualifications

Required Education
  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Education
  • Degree in an applicable field (e.g., Business Administration, Allied Health, Computer Science, etc.)

Required Experience
  • Two (2) years of experience in application support or application training

Preferred Experience
  • Three (3) years of experience with analysis, content building, and project management within the applicable application or Epic module

Required Licensure(s) / Certification(s)
  • If hired into a role that supports an Epic application (effective October 1, 2012), Epic certification is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer into the position, or within three attempts at passing the exam.

  • New Version Training (NVT) is required with each Epic version release and must be maintained.

  • Epic requires periodic re-certification every 3–5 years or with version releases. NVT and/or re-certification must be maintained to retain certification and continued employment within IT.

Preferred Licensure(s) / Certification(s)
  • Technical certification(s)

Necessary Skills
  1. Ability to work autonomously in a high-production, potentially stressful environment

  2. Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills

  3. Excellent interpersonal skills

  4. Basic understanding of and experience with personal computers (PCs)
