We are seeking a Kitchen Manager to supervise and oversee all back-of-house restaurant operations at On Rotation Brewery & Kitchen.

Kitchen Manager responsibilities include supervising the food prep and cooking, managing and training kitchen staff, maintaining a fully-stocked kitchen inventory, and complying with safety and cleanliness standards.

To be successful in this role, you should be able to motivate our kitchen team and guide them to deliver quality food on time. You will have a desire to push the metrics, managing food costs and maximizing labor with operational efficiency. You will ensure all plates are properly cooked and served, that our customers have a pleasant dining experience, and will work with ownership to implement improvements to the menu or food selection as needed.

On Rotation Brewery & Kitchen is an innovative brewpub, crafting beers drop by drop on a small scale while managing an ever-rotating selection of guest taps. Our menu is centered around gluten-friendly fried chicken, and we maintain dedicated gluten-free fryers in our kitchen. We are looking for someone to drive the growth of our food program alongside our brewing and beer program.

Great candidates will be inspired to take the reins of our kitchen and to work closely with our brewer, front-of-house manager, and ownership to see that On Rotation Brewery & Kitchen is successful.

Responsibilities

  • Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
  • Optimize food & labor costs
  • Supervise food prep and cooking
  • Check food plating and temperature
  • Establish portion sizes
  • Schedule kitchen staff shifts
  • Price & cost menu items in collaboration with the owners, management, and contracted consultants
  • Order kitchen supplies and coordinate with ownership for new orders of kitchen equipment, as needed
  • Train kitchen team as well as FOH team on food plating/presentation techniques
  • Store food products in compliance with safety practices
  • Keep weekly and monthly cost reports
  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area

Skills

  • Proven work experience as a Kitchen Manager or Head Chef is a plus
  • Knowledge of a wide range of recipes
  • Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Conflict management abilities
  • Ability and desire to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
  • Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
  • Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients is a plus
  • Certification from a culinary school or a degree in Restaurant Management is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50, $65,000.00 per year
