Remote Radiology Coder

About the Role
We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Radiology Coders to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced medical coders who are passionate about accuracy and compliance in radiology coding. Candidates with teaching facility and cancer center (Oncology) experience are highly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Accurately assign CPT, diagnosis codes, and modifiers for radiology services.
- Review and analyze medical records from a teaching facility environment, including Oncology & Resident coding experience.
- Ensure coding compliance with AHIMA, AAPC, and federal guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation as needed.
- Meet quality and productivity standards.
- Support ongoing coding audits and updates as required.
Qualifications
Required:
- 2+ years of radiology coding experience.
- Current certification from AHIMA (e.g., CCS, RHIT, RHIA) or AAPC (e.g., CPC, COC, CIC).
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and modifiers.
- Experience coding in a teaching facility environment, including oncology & resident experience.
- Familiarity with Cerner, Athena, and 3M standalone systems.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality of PHI.
Preferred:
- Experience in cancer centers.
- Additional teaching facility exposure beyond resident-level experience.
