About the role

We are seeking an experienced AS400/Synon Developer to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in AS400 systems and Synon development to design, develop, and maintain innovative software solutions that meet our business needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, refine specifications, and collaborate on technical solutions that enhance our operational capabilities. Your ability to troubleshoot and optimize existing AS400/Synon applications will be crucial in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our systems

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the technical design and development of applications using Synon, AS400/COBOL and CLP
  • Oversee the implementation of system enhancements and new applications to meet business needs.
  • Provide technical expertise in the Medicare and Medicaid Claims, Claims, and Payer domains. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new systems.
  • Implement enhancements as per Software Development methodologies including Analysis, Design, Coding, Unit Testing, Installation, Post implementation monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all technical processes and systems.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Implement best practices for coding, testing, and deployment to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Work model

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Schaumburg, IL. What you need to have to be considered

  • Minimum 6+ years of Lead/Developer experience in AS400 + Synon
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in Synon coding skills
  • Experience in development in RxCLAIM application (Adjudication) is required.
  • Should be able to read COBOL/400 code for analysis and debugging.
  • CLLE, CL/400, SQL/400 , QUERY/400 knowledge required.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $60,000 to $93,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
