Job Description:
The Patient Business Services Follow-up Representative reports to the Patient Business Services Follow-up Manager. S/he is responsible for actively collecting and managing healthcare receivables and processing assigned patient accounts in a timely manner and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assists with priority accounts, problem resolution and exception processing. Must exercise tact and sound judgment in obtaining cooperation rather than confrontation. Other duties may apply as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Experience:
Proven ability to quickly comprehend new techniques and concepts and readily adapt to change. A qualified candidate must demonstrate the following skills and abilities: effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to read, comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions; experience with computers and working knowledge of standard office equipment; experience in patient accounting including knowledge of billing, follow-up, registration, reimbursement, medical terminology, and managed care. The incumbent must be proficient in data entry and keyboarding skills, demonstrated by passing a related test. Demonstrated ability in problem-solving, organization, and interpersonal communication. Demonstrated ability to maintain positive professional demeanor in a demanding environment with potential for conflict. Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Well groomed in appearance.
Preferences:
Working knowledge of federal and state regulations; ability to work independently.
Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D. required; relevant course work above and beyond high school is preferred.

$31.60
to
$42.27
The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.
Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $2.17Hourly Night Shift Differential: $3.26
