The Patient Care Technician position on P11- Head & Neck/Breast Surgery unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse, and directly impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.
Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and either one year of recent experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant or a CNA certification.
The schedule will be eve/night shift which will include a combination of all three shifts with rotating weekends and holidays required. Eve/nights 7A - 7P, 7A - 3P, or 3P - 11P.
The Head & Neck/Plastics Reconstruction unit provides specialized nursing care to patients with a unique complexity of needs. Challenge yourself to enhance your critical-thinking and knowledge of airway management, microvascular flap monitoring, and wound care.
Hourly breakdown of salary range:
Minimum $ Midpoint $ Maximum $26.20

Essential Job Functions:
Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Acts as part of an assigned care team.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: at least 1 year of direct patient care experience
Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
