Job Description

BEM is seeking an experienced junior IT Engineer to assist our network team in Install, configure, maintain/monitor network infrastructure and perform relevant troubleshooting. Also, support the system maintenance team and Client Success Managers.

  • Managing Windows, workstations, and servers
  • Knowledge of Active Directory
  • Azure and Microsoft 365
  • knowledge of VMware
  • Networking skills
  • ability to interact with end users
  • Triage incoming tickets
  • Respond to clients with solutions
  • Meet with development team to plan releases
  • QA fixes in test sites
  • Plan migration between systems

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Active Directory to configure users.
  • Experience in managing Windows. Workstations and servers.
  • Understanding of Azure and Microsoft 365
  • Understanding of VMware and its configurations
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users
  • Ability to analyze network issues and identify root causes
  • Willingness to learn from senior team members and take on new challenges

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network performance, availability, and security using network monitoring tools.
  • Add/Remove Accounts in Active Directory, Office 365.
  • Assist with troubleshooting network issues and outages, escalating to senior team members as needed.
  • Assist with the configuration, installation, and maintenance of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Perform routine network maintenance tasks such as firmware upgrades, patch management, and configuration backups.
  • Provide technical support to end-users for network-related issues, including connectivity problems, VPN access, and wireless connectivity.
  • Assist with user training and documentation on network-related topics and procedures.
  • Assist with implementing and enforcing network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to network security and data privacy
  • Collaborate with other IT team members, including network engineers, system administrators, and security analysts, to support overall IT operations and initiatives.
  • Participate in team meetings, projects, and initiatives as assigned.

  • This is a full-time permanent position. Work is on-site in our Madison, NJ Corporate HQ
