Join our dedicated team as a Bus Aide and play a vital role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of students during transportation. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will assist the bus driver in managing student behavior, providing support to children with special needs, and maintaining a positive environment on the bus. Your proactive approach and caring attitude will help create a safe and welcoming experience for all students as they travel to and from school.

Duties

  • Support the bus driver by monitoring student behavior and ensuring adherence to safety rules during transit.
  • Assist students with special needs, including helping them board and disembark safely, and providing necessary support throughout the ride.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote a respectful and orderly environment on the bus.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and school staff regarding student needs or concerns.
  • Maintain safety protocols at all times, including emergency procedures and first aid if needed.
  • Help with loading and unloading students, ensuring proper use of safety restraints and seating arrangements.
  • Report any incidents or safety issues promptly to school authorities or transportation supervisors.

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education needs, behavior management techniques, and conflict resolution is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with classroom activities or teaching methods can enhance your ability to support students effectively.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with staff, students, and families.
  • Certification in first aid is desirable.
  • Experience in conflict management or handling challenging behaviors will help maintain a positive environment on the bus.
  • Previous transportation or school-related experience is a plus but not required; we welcome motivated individuals eager to make a difference. Embark on this fulfilling role where your energy and compassion directly impact students' daily journeys

Pay: $ $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
