Shipping Supervisor

This position is in the Tulsa, OK facility and will report directly to the Manager of Warehouse and Logistics. The Shipping Supervisor oversees all aspects of domestic and international shipping operations. This role ensures timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and customer service. The supervisor leads a team of logistics personnel and coordinates with carriers, customs brokers, and internal departments to streamline shipping workflows.
This has been designated as a safety-sensitive job because it involves performing one or more tasks/duties that could reasonably affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task(s) or others.
What You'll Do
Direct and monitor all functions and activities of the logistics department.
Perform duties in alignment with the Logistics Supervisor role and company standards.
Recommend, implement, and maintain logistics policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
Keep the Manager of Warehouse and Logistics informed of departmental activities, accomplishments, and challenges.
Generate and analyze performance reports daily, weekly, monthly, and annually to identify trends and drive improvements.
Ensure accurate entry and maintenance of shipping documentation in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), including Bills of Lading, shipment photos, and gaming commission approvals.
Review records for accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
Provide performance feedback and recommendations for logistics team during scheduled reviews.
Develop and maintain safety and technical training programs for all logistics staff.
Supervise the cleanliness and organization of the logistics department, dock, and surrounding areas.
Plan and optimize layouts for the logistics area and cross-dock locations to enhance workflow and safety.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the logistics team.
What We're Looking For
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of FedEx, UPS, and other freight carriers' digital platforms.
Efficiently book shipments, track deliveries, and research logistics data using carrier-specific systems.
File and manage freight claims for lost, damaged, or delayed shipments, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
Maintain strong relationships with carrier representatives to expedite issue resolution and optimize service levels.
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems, including modules for scheduling, inventory control, receiving, small parcel shipping, LTL freight, international shipping and packaging standards and barcode applications.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate-level skills in Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational improvements.
Skilled in applying structured problem-solving tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Strong planning, organizing, and project management capabilities with excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
Ability to interpret complex instructions and customer requirements, translating them into actionable logistics strategies.
Comfortable working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics to support data-driven decision-making.
Above-average computer literacy, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
2+ years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing setting leading a logistics team.
Knowledge of ERP systems with hands-on experience in modules related to inventory, shipping, receiving, and scheduling.
