Overview:

Hands-on Lab Network Engineer with strong expertise in Cisco Crosswork Network Controller (CNC) deployment on VMware environments. Skilled in network topology design, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, and lab environment management supporting advanced networking validation and testing for Cisco solutions.

Key Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Cisco CNC Deployment on VMware: Install, configure, and validate Cisco Crosswork Network Controller in virtualized lab setups using VMware ESXi and Linux CLI.
  • Network Topology Design: Develop and document logical and physical network diagrams for lab simulations and proof-of-concept (POC) testing.
  • Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve routing, switching, and connectivity issues using tools such as Wireshark, traceroute, and syslogs.
  • Device Recovery: Perform manual or remote reboots of routers/switches and ensure device accessibility via console or SSH.
  • Lab Automation: Automate repetitive tasks and configuration processes using Python, Bash, or Ansible scripts.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of lab configurations, test results, and topology updates to ensure reproducibility and compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and product teams to support validation, testing, and issue resolution in lab environments.

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Networking: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, ACLs
  • Tools & Platforms: VMware ESXi, Cisco CNC, Linux, Wireshark, Visio, Lucidchart, Cisco Packet Tracer
  • Automation: Python, Bash, Ansible
  • Access Tools: SSH, SNMP, DCIM

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in network engineering or lab infrastructure roles
  • In-depth understanding of routing, switching, and IP networking principles
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco CNC, VMware, and Linux
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with focus on lab reliability and uptime

Job Type: Contract
