Overview

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Counter Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service and support in a retail environment. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers with their purchases, managing transactions, and ensuring the sales area is well-stocked and organized. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries and purchases.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately while adhering to cash handling procedures.
  • Upsell products and services to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor through effective merchandising and stocking practices.
  • Service rental linens and other event items.
  • Manage phone inquiries with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette.
  • Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed.
  • Help customers plan events.

Skills

  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on satisfaction.
  • Proficient in retail sales techniques, including upselling and merchandising strategies.
  • Experience with cashiering and basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
  • Familiarity with retail math concepts to assist in inventory management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers.
  • Previous experience in grocery store settings or similar retail environments is preferred.
