Job Summary:

The PostgreSQL Database Administrator will design, implement, and maintain robust

database solutions that support mission-critical systems. This role ensures database

performance, integrity, and security while collaborating with development and

infrastructure teams to optimize PostgreSQL environments across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities:


• Lead administration, configuration, and optimization of PostgreSQL databases in

production and development environments.


• Implement database security, backup, and recovery strategies that align with

enterprise and DoD standards.


• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks, queries, and

indexing strategies.


• Collaborate with application developers to design efficient schema, stored

procedures, and data models.


• Plan and execute PostgreSQL upgrades, migrations, and patching schedules.


• Create and maintain documentation for database standards, processes, and

operational procedures.


• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.


• Support automation efforts using tools like Ansible, pgBackRest, and monitoring

platforms.
