Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Dental Radiology and Sterilization Technician to join our dental practice. This role is essential in ensuring the highest standards of patient care, infection control, and efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a solid understanding of dental imaging and sterilization procedures, and familiarity with treatment planning while assisting doctors during exams.

This position is ideal for a newer dental assistant who wants to learn the ins and outs of a dental office and eventually grow into a chairside assistant role. This position will also work closely with a hygienist during accelerated hygiene hours.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate dental radiology equipment, including X-ray machines and 3D scanners, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Maintain strict infection control protocols through proper sterilization of dental instruments and equipment using aseptic techniques
  • Assist with accelerated hygiene appointments
  • Help with documentation during exams
  • Take vital signs and monitor patient comfort during procedures
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of sterilization areas and treatment rooms
  • Support the dental team with general assisting duties, including understanding dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care
  • Adhere to infection control standards and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff

Skills

  • Knowledge of dental imaging techniques, including X-ray procedures, 3D scanning, and basic medical imaging protocols
  • Ability to perform basic chairside assisting, with developing competence in four-handed dentistry practices
  • Solid knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and basic coding practices
  • Skilled in infection control procedures and aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail in sterilization processes and record keeping
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment while maintaining high standards of patient care

This position is integral to delivering safe, effective dental services while supporting the overall functionality of our practice. We are seeking motivated individuals who are committed to clinical excellence and excited to grow within a professional, supportive environment.

Pay: $ $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
