Hoosier Precision Machining is a fast-paced manufacturing machine shop specializing in plastic and metal components for the Aerospace and Medical industries. We are seeking a qualified CNC Lathe Machinist - Operator to join our 1st shift operations. The ideal candidate will be capable of performing operations with minimal supervision. Applicants must be highly organized and be detailed oriented.

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Read blueprint and work orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds and depth of cut.
  • Operate CNC Lathes in all phases of operation, to run first article parts or to proof new programs.
  • Set tools and grind tools to meet print requirements.
  • Insure the proper utilization of equipment and material.
  • Make setups and operate equipment insuring adherence to procedures and standards.
  • Maintain accurate dimensional tolerances based upon drawings.
  • Use measuring tools and gauges to insure quality of product and do in process inspection.
  • Conducts and documents first article inspection as well as in process inspection.
  • Interacts with department staff, supervisor and programmers as required.
  • Must maintain a clean and organized work station with only items directly relevant to the job present.
  • Maintains machinery Daily Preventive Maintenance Log and adds fluids as needed to ensure the machinery is in running order.

· Accurately log job time into Vantage system

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to interpret prints accurately.
  • Posses well developed problem solving skills.
  • Communicate clearly orally and in writing. Ability to operate at a high level of efficiency.
  • Must be professional, dedicated, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work well with others and be a team player.

Work Hours

  • 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday - 1st Shift

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
