Support the company's business ethics and regulatory compliance functions and typically has regulatory responsibility for multiple areas within their field. Regulatory fields include, but are not limited to privacy, health care, environmental, transportation, and product compliance. Direct the business and provides guidance and training to associates and audits program execution.   • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or 6+ years of relevant experience internal or external of Kroger
  • Significant experience with regulatory environment and laws related to their programs, including managing enforcement actions, performing audits, and tracking corrective actions
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and respond to changing business priorities
  • Strong follow-up, accountability, and attention to detail

DESIRED

  • High level of experience designing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations

  • Recognized certification in their area of responsibility

  • Possess significant knowledge and experience in interpreting the federal, state, and other applicable laws and regulations as it relates to each of their programs; interpret laws and regulations to determine potential impact on business programs

  • Manage multiple programs that present a moderate risk to the company; draft policies and related documentation with minimal oversight
  • Audit and interpret results related to their programs to identify significant issues of noncompliance and adjust practices and procedures to return to compliance as quickly as possible
  • Maintain a robust communication channel with manager and director level associates for relaying results and any potential non-compliance issues; ensure vendors are aware and meet compliance expectations and service level agreements
  • Respond to regulatory compliance questions/request on programs; follow up with all program inquiries in a timely manner and develop solutions that enable the successful operation of the business
  • Create training documents and train associates to accomplish assigned compliance tasks
  • Complete and submit correspondence, permit applications and compliance reports for their programs; distribute information to associates and agencies; ensure a system to accurately file reports is in place to meet compliance requirements
  • Make process improvements and complete special projects as assigned by manager
  • Travel to attend industry training programs to maintain expertise in current or future subject matter areas as approved by manager
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
  • Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
