Nikkiso ACD is an engineering and manufacturing company specializing in machinery designed to operate at cryogenic temperatures as low as – 420 degrees Fahrenheit, the boiling point of Liquid hydrogen. For over 50 years, Nikkiso ACD has specialized in centrifugal and reciprocating pumps as well as turbines for air separation. Nikkiso ACD has the most diversified product line in the industry covering nearly every application requiring pumps or turboexpanders.
This position is based at Nikkiso ACD located in Santa Ana, CA.
Job OverviewThe Quality Control Assistant ensures that the company provides products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations through the deployment and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS). The quality control assistant will assist in various QMS activities to ensure continual compliance to the organization's procedures and requirements. The quality control assistant will support activities to identify and implement improvements, including liaising with managers and staff. The quality control assistant will perform a wide variety of duties. Such as, making sure products and services meet the quality standards, inspecting products for flaws or defects, investigating and documenting results.
Responsibilities- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty well. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical demands required.
- Quality liaison representative during night shift operations.
- Provides support for quality investigations and resolution of quality issues.
- Provided quality oversight on manufacturing processes to ensure compliance including data integrity.
- Support troubleshooting activities related to products, processes, and corrective actions.
- Inspect materials, processes and products for compliance or as required.
- Assist with regulatory and quality training sessions.
- Perform internal process audits, prepare audit reports and communicate their results.
- Assist and facilitate archiving of documentation, including certifications, test, traceability, nonconforming reports, and completion of deliverable manufacturing records.
- Ability to work overtime. This may include weekdays, weekends, day shift and/or holidays.
- Perform other quality related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all Nikkiso ACD company and EHS policies and procedures.
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to think logically and methodically.
- Good interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Decision making ability coupled with the ability to work independently and proactively.
- Previous exposure to a machine shop, foundry or sheet metal shop.
- Working experience on several computer programs and databases (MS Office, Outlook, MRP, Engineering drawing database).
- Quality System auditing and reporting experience.
- Understanding of standard manufacturing and safety compliance processes.
Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Associate degree or vocational training in mechanical inspection, manufacturing technology or related field desirable; or equivalent combination of education and experience whereby requisite knowledge, skills and abilities have been demonstrated.
- 2+ years of experience working in a quality related field.

In order to perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls. Perform other duties as listed below.
- May be required to lift up to 45 lbs. or team lift.
- May be required to use a pallet jack, forklift, lift/jib crane and/or any other material handling equipment.
- Duties will generally be performed indoors and onsite but may require activities to be performed outdoor or offsite.
Environmental Safety Requirements
- New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness.
- All safety-related training is provided and tracked by the EHS Director.
- Job specific training modules deemed necessary by the employee's Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis.
- Understanding and ability to safely work in a potentially explosive environment.
Employees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPEs include safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats and dust masks. Failure to comply with Nikkiso safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.

Salary Range: $17.00/hr. - $22.00/hr.
