Our mission is to provide students with an unparalleled education that combines academic rigor with extensive hands-on experience — including over 60 days each year of field and research training on the water.

Position Overview

The Assistant Director of Admissions supports all aspects of student recruitment, admissions, and enrollment management. This role focuses on engaging prospective students, guiding them through the admissions process, and promoting Moore Marine College's unique experiential learning opportunities. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, student-focused, and able to effectively communicate the value of a specialized marine education.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing and executing annual recruitment strategies to meet enrollment goals.

Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from prospective students, parents, and academic advisors.

Conduct admissions interviews, campus tours, and virtual information sessions.

Review applications and supporting materials to assess academic readiness and fit with Moore Marine College programs.

Maintain accurate records of all prospective and admitted students within the CRM system.

Represent the college at high school visits, college fairs, and marine science events (local and out-of-state travel may be required).

Collaborate with the marketing team to create and distribute outreach materials, including digital campaigns and email communications.

Support the organization of open houses, orientation programs, and recruitment events.

Assist in developing articulation agreements with other institutions and community organizations.

Provide input on scholarships, financial aid processes, and student retention initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions or President.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required (Master's preferred), ideally in education, communications, marketing, or a marine-related field.

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in college admissions, student recruitment, or higher education administration.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.

Passion for marine science, environmental education, and student success.

Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and social media marketing tools.
