BrightCore is seeking a
Director or Senior Director of Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting
for a company based in Atlanta, GA.
This permanent position is
Hybrid (2 days in the office). This role leads the company's financial reporting and technical accounting functions, with a critical focus on
IPO readiness
. The Director/Senior Director will build scalable reporting infrastructure, implement complex accounting standards, and support strategic transactions. This position is instrumental in preparing the organization for public company rigor and long-term financial transparency.
Key Responsibilities
- IPO Readiness
: Drive initiatives to prepare for public listing, including audit coordination, financial statement rigor, and control environment enhancement. - Technical Accounting
: Lead evaluation and implementation of complex accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842, equity/debt instruments, M&A). - Audit & Controls
: Manage external audit relationships and oversee internal control documentation and SOX framework development. - Policy Development
: Establish and maintain accounting policies aligned with public company expectations. - Cross-Functional Collaboration
: Partner with Legal, FP&A, and external advisors to support financial disclosures and strategic initiatives. - Team Leadership
: Build and mentor a high-performing reporting and technical accounting team.
Qualifications
- Education
: Bachelor's degree in
Accounting
; Master's in Accounting preferred. - Certification
: CPA required. - Experience
: 10+ years in financial reporting and technical accounting, including 5+ years in leadership roles. Must demonstrate a
stable career trajectory with increasing responsibility across roles
. - Profile
: A
dynamic, strategic thinker
who can translate complex accounting guidance into actionable insights and build scalable infrastructure for IPO readiness. - Skills
: Deep knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and technical accounting; strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
