Position

Groundskeeper

Overview

Reports to Supervisor of Corporate Facilities

Responsible for general upkeep and appearance of the buildings and grounds.

 

This individual will ensure the cleanest and safest working environment possible at all times. Maintain a state-of-the-art infrastructure to support McCollister's continuous growth.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing assigned tasks as directed, and the appearance of the grounds.
  • Follows direction of the Lead Groundskeeper and Facilities Supervisor with general upkeep and appearance of the buildings and grounds.
  • Use appropriate safety equipment and follow safety instructions when operating equipment and vehicles.
  • Pick up liter, remove trash and debris.
  • Groom the lawn, basic landscaping, trim edges of the lawns.
  • Painting, moving furniture and office cleaning.
  • Minor maintenance.
  • Cleaning of roads and walkways.

Education

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience relating to grounds keeping and maintenance.

Experience

  • A minimum of 1+ years in similar position
  • General grounds keeping and maintenance experience
  • Basic landscaping experience
  • Minor maintenance experience
  • Candidate must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Proven track record of working in a team environment and autonomously

Key Competencies

  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive light duty vehicles
  • Must be able to qualify on company vehicles
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 to 70 lbs up and down stairs
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Ability to operate lawn care equipment safely
  • Ability to work with little oversight after basic directions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team oriented and personally committed to continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and positively with all members of the organization
  • Computer literacy for basic Microsoft Office and Google G Suite applications
