Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. This role is crucial in ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained to meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sterile processing procedures and demonstrate a commitment to patient care.

Duties

  • Perform cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory management of sterile supplies and equipment.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure the integrity of sterile items.
  • Understand and apply medical terminology relevant to sterile processing.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely availability of sterilized instruments for surgical procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of sterilization equipment and report any malfunctions or issues.
  • Uphold safety standards and protocols in compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Experience

  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology is preferred.
  • Previous experience in sterile processing or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and practices.
  • Certification in sterile processing or completion of a relevant training program is a plus.
