We are looking for a skilled mortgage loan officer assistant to join our top-producing team and assist our mortgage loan origination officers. This position is responsible for accurately prequalifying home loan applications, issuing and managing quality pre-approval letters, and overseeing the success of every loan in the committed pipeline.

The loan officer assistant will work cohesively with the Loan Officer, borrowers, loan processors, underwriters, and third parties to close 95%+ of all loans on time while providing an outstanding experience from application to close.

This position requires substantial cash, credit, capacity (income), collateral, communication skills, and the ability to be resourceful.

Compensation:

$50,000 - $65,000 yearly

Responsibilities:

Prequalify leads:

  • Contact all borrower(s) within 24 hours after the Initial Loan Consultation.
  • Request and review cash, credit, and capacity (income) qualifications for all borrowers with a strong knowledge of mortgage guidelines

Pre-Approve borrowers:

  • Accurately pre-approve all eligible borrowers
  • Handle payment scenario requests
  • Proactively contact pre-approved buyers
  • Communicate effectively with Realtor partners

Pipeline Responsibilities:

  • Onboard all newly received contracts for Rate Lock Consultation
  • Submit loan applications to Loan Processing for eDisclosures
  • Execute outstanding borrower Tuesday Updates, Pre-Closing Funding Calls
  • Ensure 95%+ loans close on time with daily check-ins to address choke points
  • Resolve 95%+ of loan issues before escalating to the Loan Officer
  • Check all loan package documents for complete accuracy and submit any discrepancies to the loan officer/ loan originator
  • Handle all customer and in-house inquiries about transactions so the process is smooth, and customers receive excellent service
  • Coordinate and prepare documentation necessary for verifications and underwriting, such as loan files, loan packages, credit reports, and additional mortgage application paperwork

Qualifications:

  • Computer proficiency required including MS Office; some CRM, MLS, DU, and proprietary mortgage software preferred
  • Preferred degree in banking or finance, and a high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Preferably 5+ years of experience in a professional office or mortgage environment as a mortgage loan officer assistant or similar position
  • Possess an advanced understanding of different loan products, such as conventional loans, FHA, VA, adjustable/ fixed, commercial loans, etc.
  • Having an NMLS license is not required, but is preferred
