Description

Corporate CAD Manager oversees CAD standards, workflows, and technologies to support municipal infrastructure, mobility and site development projects. This role ensures high-quality drafting deliverables, optimizes CAD software usage, and collaborates with designers, engineers and project managers to meet technical requirements.

CAD Standards & Compliance

  • Develop and enforce CAD standards specific to civil engineering (e.g., roadway, drainage, grading, utilities) using Autodesk Civil3D
  • Ensure drawings meet client specifications or adhere to LAN standards

Team Leadership & Training

  • Provide help resources and mentor CAD designers and project engineers in Autodesk Civil3D
  • Evaluate and implement new tools to improve design or production efficiency and accuracy
  • Conduct training sessions on software updates, standards, and best practices
  • Structure training assessments for new and current staff; develop training courses using third part resources

Quality Control

  • Review and audit drawings for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to standards
  • Implement QA/QC procedures for CAD deliverables

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or Computer-Aided Drafting Technology Certification or Degree (preferred) or related field
  • 5+ years of CAD experience in civil engineering projects, with 2+ years in a leadership role preferred
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil3D and related civil design software
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction documentation
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
