Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation and configuration of alarm systems, CCTV, sensors, fire alarms, and access control devices.
  • Support senior technicians in wiring and cabling tasks using hand tools and power tools while adhering to safety standards.
  • Learn to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to security and surveillance systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections of security equipment, sensors, and CCTV cameras to ensure optimal operation.
  • Participate in troubleshooting system issues using remote access software and diagnostic tools.
  • Help with testing system functionality including IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), low voltage circuits, and telecommunication connections.
  • Gain exposure to system design principles involving security integration for commercial or residential projects.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity of hand tools and power tools used in construction or electrical work.
  • Basic understanding of computer networking, computer hardware, and remote access software.
  • Prior experience as a service technician or in field service roles is advantageous but not required.
  • Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, cabling techniques, schematics reading, and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards preferred.
  • Interest or background in surveillance systems such as CCTV or security system installation is a plus.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while working independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new technologies like sensors, fire alarms, IDS, and locksmithing basics.
