Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Runner to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our guests receive their orders promptly and accurately, contributing to an exceptional dining experience. This position requires strong communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.

Duties

  • Deliver food from the kitchen to guests in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met.
  • Assist servers by providing support during service, including refilling drinks and clearing tables.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including bussing tables after guests depart.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during peak hours, communicating any special requests or dietary restrictions from guests.
  • Adhere to food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures at all times.
  • Assist in food preparation when necessary, demonstrating knowledge of culinary techniques and food presentation.
  • Utilize POS systems such as Aloha or Micros for order management as needed.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations is essential.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with guests and team members.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively relay information between the kitchen and dining area.
  • Experience with banquet service or catering is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cooking techniques and kitchen operations is advantageous.
