Acuity established the Acuity Intelligent Spaces (AIS) organization to tackle problems within the built environment. The built environment is responsible for 40% of the world's greenhouse gases, and we are creating solutions that will make buildings Smarter, Safer, and Greener. AIS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join one of our Atrius Spatial Intelligence product development teams to help grow our wayfinding and spatial intelligence product portfolio.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll leverage your passion for full-stack development to design, build, deploy, and maintain highly available distributed cloud applications that support our customers' growing accessibility, wayfinding, spatial intelligence, and sustainability goals. You will also be responsible for working with other software engineers and product managers, contributing directly to feature design and architecture. Culturally, we emphasize trust, respect, asynchronous communication, creativity, and valuing our customers. The Senior Software Engineer is a key individual contributor role and an opportunity to apply your unique combination of technical skills to customer-facing products and services. While doing so, you will work with a broad array of technology and business experts to leave a lasting impact on our customers' accessibility and sustainability initiatives.

• Write well-designed and testable code.
• Design and implement scalable software systems.
• Collaborate to design, implement, and maintain new features.
• Work with our project management team to identify, analyze, and fix bugs.
• Work with our product management team to develop solutions that allow our customers to think Smarter, Safer, and Greener about their environment.

• 5+ years of programming experience in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Strong proficiency with microservice and event-driven architecture.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience developing applications in a cloud environment using Infrastructure as Code (AWS preferred).
• Experience with React (or equivalent framework), CI/CD pipelines & concepts, Test Driven Development (TDD), and writing unit tests.
• Experience with development tools like , Yarn, git, Figma, etc.
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
• Ability to learn on the job and explore modern technologies with little supervision.
• Experience with Agile Methodologies such as Scrum. You've been on teams that practice Agile, and you understand why it's beneficial.

• Experience with interactive maps, cartography, or geospatial technology.
• Experience with remote work environments.
• Experience with serverless technologies and the serverless framework.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

The range for this position is $120,800.00 to $217, Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant's experience and geographic location.
