Job Overview

As a Home Care Aide (Caregiver), you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals in their homes or community settings. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those they serve.

Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide support with meal preparation and cooking to ensure nutritional needs are met.
  • Perform patient observation and monitoring to track changes in health status and report any concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
  • Assist clients with mobility and transfers, including the use of equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and assist with care plans tailored to individual client needs.
  • Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.

Skills

  • Experience in home care, assisted living, or long-term care settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques is essential for ensuring client safety.
  • Familiarity with patient monitoring, vital signs assessment, and medication administration is beneficial.
  • Ability to assist individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory care.
  • Strong cleaning skills to maintain hygiene standards within the home environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
  • Capability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs.
