Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The LPN will provide essential nursing care to patients in various settings, including clinics and assisted living facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, particularly in IV infusion and specimen collection processing, and will be comfortable working with diverse patient populations, including infants.
Duties
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform IV infusions and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Assist with specimen collection processing and ensure proper handling.
- Provide care to patients in assisted living environments, focusing on their daily needs.
- Conduct assessments and document patient health status using Athenahealth software.
- Support patients with respiratory needs, including inhalation therapy and ventilation assistance.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families about health management and wellness strategies.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
Requirements
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in IV infusion techniques is preferred.
- Familiarity with Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in specimen collection processing methods.
- Knowledge of durable medical equipment (DME) usage and care.
- Experience or training in sonography is advantageous but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Compassionate approach to patient care, especially in infant care settings.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
