Job Summary
The Ministry Assistant will assist the ministers and members of Immanuel Baptist Church in carrying out its mission through communication, organization, and daily and weekly tasks. This role is approximately hours per week.
Essential Roles
Daily/Weekly:
- Answers phone, responds to email, sorts mail
- Greets all who enter Immanuel
- Schedules heat and air for the building
- Prepares Order of Worship, Prayer List, and Children's Bulletins
- Tends to the daily needs of staff and members
Communication:
- Designs and distributes church newsletter
- Updates calendars (online, gym, etc.)
- Organizes birthday cards and special remembrances for seniors
- Decorates bulletin boards
Organization:
- Orders Spiritual Formation materials and devotional material
- Orders office supplies and others supplies needed by committees and leadership
- Coordinates building use requests
- Receives benevolence requests
- Prepare lists/signage/cash box for Wednesday Night meals
- Assists with committee and staff events
- Keeps church records on CDM; prepares statistical report for business meeting
- Sends announcements via text and email
Qualifications
- Excellence in interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience using Canva and Constant Contact preferred
- Excellence in communication
- Committed to personal and professional development
- Willingness to receive training in CDM, heating and air systems, Constant Contact, and Canva
Pay: $ $19.00 per hour
