POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher (SDC – Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe) to join a supportive school team in Pacifica, CA. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to middle school students, helping them meet their IEP goals and succeed in a positive, inclusive learning environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction adapted to a variety of learning levels.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to promote student success.
  • Conduct assessments and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state regulations.
  • Create a structured and supportive classroom environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, administrators, and team members to ensure student progress.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid California Education Specialist Credential in Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe Disabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, instructional strategies, and behavioral supports.
  • Excellent classroom management and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Prior experience working with middle school students preferred.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
  • Contract Duration: Through June 2026
  • Start Date: Immediate start preferred
  • Setting: Self-Contained Special Day Class (SDC)
  • Supportive Environment: Collaborative team culture with ongoing support from school staff
