This position is for one of our clients.

We are recruiting for a DeltaV Engineer
on behalf of our client for an onsite role in
Kalamazoo, MI
. The selected candidate will play a key role in designing, configuring, and implementing advanced
Emerson DeltaV automation solutions
within the Life Sciences sector. You will support mission-critical, regulatory-compliant automation projects for biopharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing environments.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful engineering initiatives while working within a fast-paced, innovative team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and implement
    Emerson DeltaV control systems
    aligned with customer requirements and industry standards
  • Design and program
    DeltaV batch processes
    following ISA-88
  • Collaborate with Life Sciences clients to gather requirements and provide tailored automation solutions
  • Engineer system architecture, control strategies, and instrumentation specifications
  • Configure controllers, HMIs, historian systems, and applications per
    GAMP 5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11
    guidelines
  • Conduct
    FAT/SAT
    , commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure compliance with SDLC methodologies and support validation processes
  • Work closely with electrical, process, validation, and project engineering teams
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Stable work history
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • Strong hands-on experience with
    Emerson DeltaV
    (design, configuration, implementation) and PLC systems
  • Experience in
    Life Sciences / Pharma / Biotech / Medical Device
    environments
  • Solid understanding of
    ISA-88 Batch Processing
  • Experience with industrial protocols: Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus, OPC, Foundation Fieldbus, HART
  • Strong knowledge of GAMP5, cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11
  • Experience conducting FAT/SAT
    , startup, and commissioning
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to travel up to
    25%
    and work extended hours/weekends if needed

Nice to Have

  • Experience with historian systems, alarm management, and advanced control strategies
  • Understanding of industrial networking across controllers, HMIs, and servers
  • Exposure to Rockwell Automation, Siemens PCS7, or other DCS/SCADA systems
  • AutoCAD or electrical design experience
  • Loop tuning and process optimization skills
  • Experience mentoring junior team members
  • Ability to turn functional requirements into detailed software design
  • Experience in regulated or mission-critical environments
  • Professional references (peer + manager)
