Daycare Assistant Teacher

We are currently seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Assistant Teachers in the Infant, Toddler and Twos Programs of our Pennsylvania Keystone STARS 4 rated school which has earned both National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA) and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) recognition.

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Teacher, you'll:

• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans based on Goddard's play-based curriculum
• Foster a classroom environment where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore
• Support children in developing emerging self-help skills, such as handwashing, potty training, and feeding
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to ensure the success of each child's learning experience
• Assist with classroom activities, group games, and story time
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating learning environment
• Supervise outdoor play and ensure child safety at all times
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
• Model respectful and professional behavior at all times

Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

• High school graduate (at least 18 years of age)
• Meet the requirements set forth by the state licensing agencies which include, but are not limited to:
• 2 years experience working with children
• -or- 1 year experience working with children & 15 credit hours from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field
• -or- CDA
• -or- degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field

Preferred but not required:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• CDA credential
• Previous experience in a licensed child care center or preschool
• Experience working with toddlers or two-year olds

All candidates must be able to pass required background checks and health clearances.

Schedule

• Monday – Friday
• Flexible shifts between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
• Full-time and Part-time shifts available
• No nights or weekends
