Purpose
The
Kleemann Field Service Technician
is responsible for installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Kleemann crushing and screening plants and associated systems at customer sites. Travel to quarries, and construction sites; ensure equipment uptime, safety compliance, and excellent customer support.
Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning:
Assemble, align, and commission Kleemann crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, hydraulic and electrical subsystems per manufacturer specifications and site requirements.
Diagnostics & Repair:
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults; perform repairs, part replacements, and system tuning to restore safe, efficient operation.
Preventive Maintenance:
Execute scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance programs (lubrication, wear part replacement, belt tracking, structural inspections) and recommend improvements to extend equipment life.
Customer Support & Training:
Provide on-site operator orientation, explain proper maintenance procedures, and coach customer staff on safe operation and basic troubleshooting.
Technical Documentation:
Complete accurate service reports, commissioning records, parts usage logs, and timekeeping in company systems; update as-built and maintenance records.
Spare Parts & Inventory:
Identify required spare parts, coordinate with the parts team for procurement, and manage field stock as requested.
Continuous Improvement:
Provide feedback to engineering and product teams on field failure modes, design issues, and common wear items; suggest reliability improvements.
Safety & Compliance:
Enforce and follow site safety protocols, permit systems, and company HSE standards; perform risk assessments and ensure all work meets regulatory and manufacturer safety requirements.
Required skills & experience
Minimum 3–5 years' hands-on field service experience
with heavy mobile crushing & screening equipment or large stationary aggregate/mining equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude:
experience with bearings, shafts, gearboxes, crushers (jaw, cone, impact), screens, conveyors and vibratory equipment.
Proficient in hydraulic systems:
pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, hydraulic troubleshooting and schematic reading.
Solid electrical/electronic knowledge:
24–690 V systems (depending on role), PLC basics, VFDs, motor controls, instrumentation diagnostics and wiring
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings,
hydraulic/electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
Experience using diagnostic tools
(multimeter, thermal camera, vibration analyzer), welding, fabricating, and alignment tools.
Strong problem-solving
and root-cause analysis skills.
Good communication skills
for customer interactions and cross-functional collaboration.
Valid driver's license;
ability to travel frequently and work in remote locations.
Physically demanding:
lifting up to 25–50lbs, climbing, working in confined spaces and at heights, exposure to dust, noise, and outdoor weather.
Ability to work nights, weekends,
and standby/on-call rotations for emergency repairs.
