Who You'll Work With
Nike's Air Manufacturing Innovation team is the company's sole in-house manufacturing group, recognized for its exclusive expertise in Nike Air technology. In this position, you will work with a wide variety of teams and stakeholders, including but not limited to: other tooling teams such as MTOs, design sustaining engineers, and production teams.
Who We Are Looking For
As a Senior Technician, you must be able to communicate effectively and work with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to understand customer needs and offer feedback when necessary. Technicians, must be able to work independently with limited engineering support. Success in this role requires exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly articulate issues, manage expectations. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, adapts quickly to change, and consistently seeks feedback to improve delivery. A collaborative mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement are also critical for driving success.
Technical Skills And Capabilities
- Proficient in the use of basic hand tools, drill press, pedestal grinder, and advanced equipment (e.g., scroll saw).
- Ability to interpret prints and assembly/BOM drawings; assemble tooling accordingly.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Job Pack, Team Center).
- Operate specialty tooling (EasyBender and laser) for advanced repair/creation of steel rule tooling.
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.

What You'll Work On
In this role, you will work in the Tooling Shop, focusing on steel rule tooling fabrication and maintenance, as well as supporting assembly and polishing of moulds. While this position will mainly focus on the repair and manufacturing of steel rule dies, senior technicians must also be able to perform simple repairs to moulds, polish and texture new moulds, and assemble full part sets for production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve tooling emergencies and basic steel rule tooling issues.
- Build awareness of costs and contribute ideas for process improvement.
- Provide solutions to complex problems using established best practices.
