We are seeking an experienced Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Cluster Manager to oversee the operational excellence of multiple data centers within our regional infrastructure. This role combines technical leadership, operational management, and strategic planning to ensure optimal performance of our data center operations.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple data centers within a region, ensuring 24/7 operational reliability

• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cluster operations

• Manage a team of data center facility managers, chief engineers, and technicians

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams on maintenance, upgrades, and expansion projects

• Monitor and optimize power usage effectiveness (PUE) and other key performance metrics

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across cluster operations

• Ensure compliance with security protocols and industry standards

- 4+ years of management experience
- Experience with large scale mechanical and power systems
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units
- Experience hiring, developing, and managing high-performing technical teams

- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA
- Experience with large-scale technical operations or large-scale compute farms
- Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $292,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
