Job Summary:
The Application Developer will support automation and backend development efforts within BNY Information Security organization. This position focuses on enhancing a web-based dashboard—a centralized application that aggregates and visualizes vulnerability and hygiene data from multiple security data feeds to identify deficiencies and potential breaches.

Working under the direction of Principal Cyber Security Architects, this developer will build secure, scalable solutions, automate control evaluations, and ensure compliance with enterprise security and regulatory standards.

This is a hybrid role expecting 4-days on-site in Lake Mary, FL or Pittsburgh, PA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend services that support the a security dashboard, consuming and integrating data from various internal feeds.
• Build automation tools to evaluate and measure security control effectiveness and compliance.
• Support the design and delivery of secure enterprise applications aligned with bank security frameworks.
• Conduct unit testing, document implemented designs, and ensure smooth deployment of enhancements and releases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure application compliance with ITIL, NIST 800-53, and ISO 27000 standards.
• Develop and report key performance metrics that measure progress and security posture effectiveness.
• Establish strong relationships across technology, risk, and security groups.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices and automation processes.

Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of software development experience (backend-focused).
• Strong hands-on development experience with Java (Spring Boot), Python, Angular or React, and Relational or MongoDB databases.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and backend data integration.
• Working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and control frameworks (ITIL, NIST 800-53, ISO
• Ability to work autonomously, manage deliverables, and communicate effectively with globally distributed teams.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Preferred skills:

• Experience with AppDynamics or similar monitoring tools.
• Prior experience in financial services or security engineering environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise development environments, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows.
