Job Description:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist facilitates the identification, engagement, pre-qualification, assessment, and ultimate hiring of qualified candidates for Fortis. The individual in this role will serve as a strategic partner to our managers, helping to attract and engage top talent in the marketplace to build the strength of the Fortis team.

This role would be primarily focused on the talent acquisition activities for openings in our Data Center and Science & Technology Business Units.

The TA Specialist must possess effective communication skills and the ability to effectively manage the balance of urgent and long-term tasks. This person serves as an advocate for candidates, employees, and the company. The TA Specialist must be a role model for organizational values.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate full-cycle recruitment activities, ranging from candidate sourcing to new hire onboarding, in support of the hiring teams
  • Serve as talent consultant to Fortis hiring managers on all aspects of the talent acquisition process, to ensure hiring activities and candidate profiles meet the needs of the business
  • Identify current and future staffing requirements by understanding the short and long-term company recruiting and growth objectives.
  • Determine and implement appropriate recruiting strategies and techniques for the specific market, industry, and candidate skill set required.
  • Create extraordinary sourcing strategies to connect with in-demand talent; these may include market and internet research, recruiting calls, reviewing online social networking and job boards, attending local networking events, posting jobs, and use of other recruiting methodologies.
  • Cultivate ongoing relationships with candidates not currently available for longer-term opportunities
  • Evaluate candidates by conducting telephone and/or in-person interviews to obtain work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements.
  • Coordinate interview logistics including scheduling, interview goals, candidate assessments, hiring manager preparation, and decision-making processes
  • Coordinate travel and logistics of candidates
  • Support the accurate, timely completion of system-based activities to ensure all technology platforms (e.g., ATS, website) are reflective of current needs
  • Serve as an ambassador for Fortis, showcasing the values and behaviors that drive individual and team success
  • Assist in other duties as assigned, relevant to the achievement of the position's and department's objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 4 years of Talent Acquisition experience – either corporate or staffing agency
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sourcing methods to identify and engage candidates of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and skillsets
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage online resources (e.g., LinkedIn, social media platforms, talent databases, job boards) for talent identification and outreach
  • Systems experience with established ATS and/or HRIS platforms
  • Excellent interviewing and assessment skills to qualify candidates for roles relative to expected knowledge, skills, attributes, and experiences
  • Ability to work independently while being able to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to negotiate and resolve issues with diplomacy and persuasiveness.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills with the ability to manage workload independently.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Can meet deadlines with high attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness
  • Ability to handle highly confidential data with integrity and professionalism
  • Solid understanding of local, state, and federal laws pertaining to recruiting, interviewing, and HR practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Ability to travel between company offices, client sites, and recruiting event locations
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Workday and LinkedIn Recruiter

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in a professional office environment. Role is stationary, often standing or sitting for long periods of time. Utilize standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Communication with internal and external contacts, including speaking and hearing. May occasionally push, pull or lift up to 25 lbs.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel to other Fortis job sites or locations as appropriate for recruiting activities (infrequent, but possibly up to 15% of time).
