Job Overview

We are seeking a professional CDL Driver for local deliveries to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight to various destinations within the Chicago-land area, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a valid commercial driver's license and experience operating a Semi truck and 53' trailer. The position offers an opportunity to work with a reputable company committed to safety and efficiency in logistics.

Monday - Friday

No weekends

Home every night

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and forklift-equipped vehicles as needed.
  • Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure on-time deliveries within the local area.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during driving operations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes.
  • Assist with securing loads and ensuring proper weight distribution for safe transport.

Experience

  • Proven experience in truck driving, specifically in local route driving and freight delivery.
  • Prior delivery driver experience preferred, especially with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tanker trucks, or dump trucks. .
  • Experience operating forklifts
  • Demonstrated ability to load & unload freight efficiently and safely.
  • Valid CDL license with a clean driving record
  • Knowledge of safety procedures related to commercial trucking and freight handling is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
