Hello, we're a small take-out BBQ restaurant looking for a cashier to take orders from customers over the phone and in person. Cashier responsibilities include, taking pickup/delivery orders over the phone, ensuring food orders are complete, using a credit card machine, using a cash register, and having knowledge of our menu/prices. Ideally you'll make sure all transactions go smoothly with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage transactions with customers using a cash register.
  • Collect payments by cash or credit.
  • Issue receipts/refunds upon request
  • Resolve customer complaints, provide info for ordering food, and take catering sized orders occasionally.
  • Greet customers upon arrival and exit of the restaurant.
  • Maintain a clean checkout area/workplace.
  • Handle orders and help with packing food.
  • Taking orders using a Point of Sales tablet, DoorDash, UberEats, and GrubHub tablets for taking orders and managing items out of stock.
  • Writing down orders clearly for the kitchen to prepare them accurately.

Skills

  • Some experience as a retail cashier
  • Familiarity with electronic equipment, like cash registers and credit card machines
  • Ability to calculate change for transactions in your head
  • Ability to learn how to use a simple point of sales system and third party delivery tablets
  • Adequate communication skills and time management skills with patrons
  • High School Degree

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
